Side benefits of impeaching now or soon

Watching MSNBC I keep hearing about risks to the Democrats if the House were to go ahead and pass articles of impeachment.  As I remember from when they impeached Bill Clinton, a LOT of things stop and the Senate has to meet as a court when the House 'managers' (similar to prosecutors) are ready to present their case.  I remember all the Senators are summoned to act as the trial court, with what sounded like serious consequences if any of them tried to bug out.  I think the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate is supposed to track them down and more or less enforce their attendance.  Senators have to sit there and listen to (or ignore) the House managers present their cases.  I think witnesses can be called.  Nothing else would be able to happen in the Senate.  I think that went on for three or so weeks for Clinton's trial.  I don't think Mitch McConnell could block that; he'd lose control of the Senate agenda.  Even the Supreme Court would be paralyzed while the Chief Justice presided over the Senate, as called for VERY specifically in the Constitution.
For several weeks the ONLY political news would be the Senate trial.  All the TV news networks would be showing excerpts from the trial, maybe even Fox.  It would be, in essence, a month long impeachment hearing not just for the Senate but also for every citizen who didn't make a big effort to ignore it.  At the end, Democrats should remind any Senator who would vote to acquit Trump will have that hanging like an albatross on his/her neck for the rest of her/his political career.  Such a prospect was likely what convinced GOP senators to force Nixon to resign.
Impeachment shouldn't be off the table, it should be front and center.  And Nancy Pelosi shouldn't delay until she has ALL the facts.  Nobody ever gets All the facts, and Trump can pile up the high crimes and misdemeanors MUCH faster than each one can be investigated.  It may even be that the House could start a second impeachment the same day the first one failed.  I seriously think once the GOP realizes things could play out this way, they'll punt Trump.  And then he could be indicted.
